Churches of Christ’s Victorian aged care nurses and personal care workers have waited four years to have a new enterprise agreement with improved wages, entitlements and working conditions. Churches of Christ continues to stall and delay.

Enough is enough. We love caring for our residents, but Churches of Christ is taking our love for our work for granted.

Please send Churches of Christ CEO Bill Lyon an email calling on him to demonstrate his organisation values the work of its nurses and personal care workers and the residents in their care by urgently improving working conditions and wages

Email Tips +

  1. We have provided a suggested email for Churches of Christ nurses and carers, but this campaign will be far more effective if you write your own email or personalise it by adding your own experience. If you are a concerned member of the community you will need to rewrite the email from your perspective.

  2. Be respectful.

  3. Don’t be personal, instead talk about the issues.

  4. Keep it short and to the point.

  5. If you are a Victorian Churches of Christ nurse or personal care worker talk about your work and the need for a fair and respectful pay increase and improved working conditions and the impact of the four-year delay for a replacement agreement. Remember, writing to your employer is legal and part of your protected industrial action. ANMF has your back. If you have any concerns, contact the ANMF.

  6. If you are a Churches of Christ aged care resident, or a relative or friend – talk about what the nurses’ and carers’ work means to you and the care you receive and why improving wages and conditions is important.

  7. If you are a member of the community talk about what it means to be an employer of integrity and what it means to respect the nurses and carers who take care of the vulnerable people living in nursing homes.
